Who is eligible for this home blood draw service?

Anyone.

Please keep in mind, we are not a laboratory. We collect specimens for the lab testing ordered by your doctor, and deliver those specimens to the laboratory designated by you, your insurance, or your practitioner. Although we are a contracted in-network provider with several health plans, many patients will have a fee for our mobile phlebotomy services. However, your insurance will cover the laboratory testing fees, as it normally would. Your doctor will receive the results of the lab testing performed the same as if you’d gone into a lab yourself.

Thanks to our national reach, we are able to serve you nearly anywhere you are. NPPN can meet all your phlebotomy services needs. We only need a copy of your doctor’s order for lab testing at the time of scheduling your collection services appointment. Orders can be one-time, daily, weekly, or monthly.

And if you need assistance, let us know! Call us at (888) 778-7403, we’re always glad to help.

A certified phlebotomist from NPPN will come to you for collection services. Our mobile medical specimen collection and delivery service makes getting lab work easy. No more waiting in line at a local lab or hospital for hours just to be stuck in the arm by an unsympathetic technician.

We collect and transport all types of specimens that your doctor or healthcare provider may request and use for diagnosis and treatment. Whether you need a blood sample taken or a stool specimen tested, we can give you the help you need from the comfort and convenience of your home or office.

We believe in patient centered care. With more than 50 years combined experience in the allied healthcare field, we have the experience to provide the best in patient care. We are changing the way people think about phlebotomists and laboratory services – one patient at a time.

Our certified and field-tested professionals will verify your identity and handle the collection process start to finish. We follow industry-leading protocols for accurate processing, packaging, and delivery to the correct laboratory for processing.

If you have special needs – difficult veins, needle phobia, anxiety, repeat testing (standing orders) – we can help make getting lab tests done more comfortable, convenient, and worry-free for you.

Helping Patients Navigate COVID-19

The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency has affected all aspects of medicine, industry, and research. The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency has affected all aspects of medicine, industry, and research.

But NPPN has adapted to the challenge. In March of 2020 we implemented our pandemic response plan, which includes, in addition to all standard biosafety precautions, the CDC and OSHA recommend heightened contact precautions, airborne precautions, and eye protection (e.g., goggles or face shields) to protect patients and our technicians from exposure to the virus. As well, we have established a workforce monitoring program to ensure the safety and health of patients and our front line personnel. This response plan has enabled us to maintain maximum flexibility while responding to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Since March of 2020, many of our healthcare provider clientele have leaned heavily on us with increasing case loads of their at risk patient populations. We are actively engaged in providing direct mitigation of virus spread by enabling these patient to stay home, out of clinic environments, and out of laboratory waiting rooms, while continuing to maintain continuity of care and diagnostic monitoring regimes.

Adapting to COVID-19

NPPN has adapted to this extraordinary challenge to ensure that our communities are kept safe and healthy, while maintaining continuity of care and diagnostic monitoring regimes, as well as supporting the critical research needed to defeat this virus.

Our team has been specializing in specimen collection for home bound and limited mobility individuals for decades. We have the experience and skill required to support your organization and your community of patients, especially during the current pandemic.

Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

We provide mobile in-home specimen collection and delivery services. We are not a lab and we do not conduct any lab testing or send specimens to a preferred lab. We collect the specimens required, according to the lab order written by your practitioner (your doctor or other authorized diagnostics prescriber), then we deliver those specimens to whatever lab they need to go to.

Can I choose which lab I want to test my specimens?

YES! As a healthcare consumer, you have the right to choose whichever lab you want to perform the tests that your practitioner has ordered for you. However, keep in mind that if you want to have the testing covered by your insurance plan, you may still need to have the testing performed by a lab that is in-network with your insurance provider.

Can I order my own tests?

Usually, the answer is NO. Most states require most diagnostic testing to be ordered by an authorized prescriber (a physician, nurse practitioner, chiropractor, dentist, etc.). However, there are some options if you want to access lab testing on your own. There are some diagnostics reseller companies (online lab) that offer direct to consumer testing services, but the results still need to be interpreted by an authorized practitioner before you get the results. This is typically done through a telemedicine (online video conference) appointment you will have with a practitioner affiliated with the online lab company.

I have a lab kit, can you help me?

YES! We are very familiar with a vast array of diagnostic lab kits and specialty testing services. Our technician will collect the specimens, process them according to the kit instructions, package and drop off the lab kit to the designated shipping carrier (usually FedEx, UPS, USPS).

Do you take my health insurance?

We work with many insurance plans, including managed care plans. However, we cannot bill Medicare or Medicaid directly. For anyone who is not a covered member of a participating health plan, we can provide an insurance claim form so you can get reimbursement according to your plan’s coverage options. However, be aware that in most cases you must be limited mobility, home bound, or have some other medical reason necessitating coverage for in-home care services, in order to receive
coverage or reimbursement for these services.

How much does it cost?

There is a one-time fee on a per draw basis. The fee is usually no more than $85.

Do you offer services in my area?

We have technicians in all of the major metropolitan areas in the United States. If you are not sure if you live in an area where we have coverage, please feel free to reach out to our operations support team. We are happy to help.

Can I schedule services for someone else?

YES! If you are a caregiver, family member or other party responsible for the patient’s care, you can schedule service on behalf of the patient.

What do I need to schedule services?

Usually you will need to provide us a copy of the lab order(s), and a copy of your insurance information so the lab will bill your insurance for the testing.

How do I schedule services?

Services can be scheduled through our online secure customer portal
available here. To begin our simple submission process, please click here, or call us at (415) 687-4854.
